Custom Zip Zinger

I have this skateboard I love. It's called the Zip Zinger (obvi) but I have never been thrilled with the graphic I got with it. It didn't match my trucks and looks like it's for a 10 year old.

So today I decided I would paint it. First I sanded it down. Truthfully I thought it looked pretty sweet like this, but we digress.

This is the first coat of paint. I just used a basic Krayon spray pain from Wal-Mart. 

Here is the second coat of paint. Nothing fancy.

In Adobe Illustrator I re-created the Zip Zinger logo. It was fairly simple it's not too complex. I just adjusted the image a little in Photoshop and then put in Illustrator where I then did a live trace. I had to fix a few points with the pen tool. After I printed it I used an exact-o knife and cut it out.

Then I tapped it in place and sprayed it with white.

There were a few little funny spots but I fixed them with an orange Sharpie marker. I didn't put the checker flag on either end in. Not sure why, maybe I will later but I like how simple it looks. That's it!

End of the Quarter

Another quarter has come to a close. I have a quick test tomorrow that will take 10 minutes then I'm done for a month and a half.  Since I have a website now, that I can put my work on I'm going to change the use of my blog a little bit. I'm not exactly sure what direction totally. Basically just anything that interests me and I think will interest others. First item of business is, my birthday is tomorrow. I'm going to be 24. Gross! My mid, mid-life-crisis!

Sooner Rather Than Later

I had a little bit of time today and got to work hard on my website, it's still not completely done but I'm too excited to wait to put it up. so her it is. Dun Da Da Dun!

Coming Soon

At the begining of this quarter I put up a super basic student website. I've been remaking it for about a week and a half now and it should be up and running Wed the 9th of Nov. So please go check it out. I'm pretty proud of since this time i did everything on it. There was no pre made template and I just plugged in my stuff. It's all my work. So yeah check it. Nov 9th!

Skateboard Art

I recently had a project to create a 3D piece incorporating light into the design. I decided to use an old skateboard deck. I mounted it onto a piece of plywood which I sanded and put a light white wash over. Anyways once I get a real desk I'll mount this over it. 

Glow Effekts

This is proboably really stupid of me, but I just learned that the default resolution for photoshop is only 72. Guess I just didn't have my eyes open or something, so here is something I have already done but I changed the resolution to 300 so it would view better. I will do this from now on. Hope you like it.
